Overview

Employment law is about people, which makes it a great fit for Bruce. He is a people person through and through. His career spans more than 40 years and in that time he has seen the common employment issues many times over. Clients appreciate that he draws from his experience when helping them resolve issues.

Bruce’s practice is focused on labor, employment, and compensation-related issues. Most of his time is spent helping clients work through the morass of employment laws and regulations. He represents employers in a number of areas including, discrimination defense, disability and ADA issues, wrongful discharge, employment contract disputes, wage and hour problems, non-compete issues, and the investigation and resolution of sensitive personnel matters.

Bruce has become an invaluable resource to the firm’s clients when they have questions about Wisconsin’s Concealed Carry law and firearms laws in general. He is extremely knowledgeable about the law and helps employers, business owners and school districts understand their options and responsibilities. Bruce also consults with clients on non-qualified deferred compensation strategies and prepares NQDC plan documents.

Bruce previously served as the general counsel and HR director for a local window and interior design firm, and then ran the HR consulting practice for a large Midwest accounting firm. His clients appreciate that he understands their perspective.

Outside the office Bruce is a volunteer with Ducks Unlimited at local, state and national levels, including serving as National Senior VP for Youth and Education. He is passionate about conservation, hunting, and getting kids involved in the outdoors. He is also a musician and plays in both a Dixieland band and a community band.
